I really thought this video would've gone over way better than it has. I know it's kind of mean spirited, but it's not like he's an insulin-dependent diabetic and they're force feeding him Gummi Bears. He doesn't experience any pain; he just passes out. To me, it's hilarious.

He's a reporter not a soldier, shouldnt we expect reports from Both Sides of the war zone? If he somehow got access to hang out with terrorist snipers what would expect him to do? Again, I don't think Ware was actually reporting from the terrorist side, that would be ground breaking access, I think you, choggie are misunderstanding the narration as if Ware was actually with the sniper, but in fact he is just reporting what happened.

Either way, there seem to only be a handful of reporters who have been reporting from the War Zone, it doesn't surprise me that you hate them for doing so

This scene is great for many reasons. They originally filmed the scene with the cameras away from the actors, and shot it like candid camera. Apparently, they hired an actual police officer (in the scene) to double as a bodyguard for the actors.

I agree that the Mountain Meadows Massacre movie was horribly made film and made of mockery of the horrific event.

As to your question about the translation method depicted in the Southpark episode, its interesting that the church always shows pictures and gives the impression that the translation was literal, with Joseph going through the plates, page by page. Eyewitness accounts, however, back up the Southpark depiction:

“Joseph Smith would put the seer stone into a hat, and put his face in the hat, drawing it closely around his face to exclude the light; and in the darkness the spiritual light would shine. A piece of something resembling parchment would appear, and on that appeared the writing. One character at a time would appear, and under it was the interpretation in English. Brother Joseph would read off the English to Oliver Cowdery, who was his principal scribe, and when it was written down and repeated to Brother Joseph to see if it was correct, then it would disappear, and another character with the interpretation would appear. Thus the Book of Mormon was translated by the gift and power of God, and not by any power of man.”

Because that's the definition of citizen.

Economic impact: You're assuming that we remove 10 million people from their jobs all at once.

No, not really. Regardless of how fast those workers are removed, they still need to be replaced. There's already been labor issues in Arizona, Colorado, etc., though the decline in housing construction has alleviated it somewhat.

Foreign Relations: With whom? Mexico? Seriously? What are they gonna do? Not let Americans into their border to spend our money in their country? I think not.

It's always a good idea to maintain good relations with your neighbors. These issues don't exist in a vacuum. It's not just Mexico, though, but every country. If the U.S. did begin a large campaign to find and deport illegal immigrants, the international respone would be horrendous, at a time when we can least afford it. But, I take it we're in agreement that such a program would be a Bad Idea.

And yes, many illegal immigrants do pay taxes, even if they don't file. Payroll taxes (social security) are automatically withheld for any wage workers. Sure, many are paid under the table, but I think that is not the norm. Besides, taxes or no, they are still contributing to society, and at the very least that should be recognized and be a mitigating circumstance when considering their status.

The problem is that our current immigration laws don't allow for nearly enough immigrant workers (everything from farm workers to computer engineers) as businesses need.
