You might also want to check out Selig, another a bit rockier act from Hamburg (and sometimes also a bit psychedelic)
There are a few more popular german acts with female leads, though they are usually more pop than rock. Check em out anyway, some good tracks from some of them.

Wow, thanks a lot! I can really see what you mean with them having the same style of music, they've all got that sort of clean electric guitar thing going on for the most part. These bands sound decent, but I think I really like Tomte's music better from what I've heard so far (listened to two songs by each of the bands you linked me to). I really liked the vocals on Blumfeld's "Tics" and Pohlmann's "Fluechten." Most of those bands were a little more pop than my tastes, but Virginia Jetzt! had a pretty cool rock feel to them. I noticed they have Madsen as one of their friends, a band that I plan to check out.
Another German band I recently got into is Slut, I think Schmawy or somebody sifted one of their songs on here a while back.

Yeah,
they are from my hometown Hamburg and have become quite big lately.
In the recent years a few bands emerged from Hamburg with the same style of music.
It even lead to the coining of the term "Hamburger Schule" (Hamburg School) to describe it.
I made a list for you. Check em out:

Have you ever hear of Tilly and The Wall?
In reply to this comment by JAPR:
Holy shit, no kidding? They're a really damned talented group of musicians. I can honestly say that "Let's Build a Fire" is my second favorite album of all time, and one of the most emotionally powerful works of music I've ever heard. I still haven't gotten to see them live, since I missed their New York show last fall due to bad train times.
Pretty crazy, haha.
In reply to this comment by MycroftHomlz:
Ironically, I know some of the people in this band. I never thought to see them on here.
It's mostly residential work which is a nice break from a lot of the commercial and institutional work I do with my other job.
Don't party too hard, you gotta remember how much fun you had in the morning.
In reply to this comment by JAPR:
Nothing new that's been super impressive to me, though there have been a few good ones here and there. One of my favorite bands, Plus-Minus, dropped a new album on October 21st though, and I was very impressed with that. Other than that, I've gotten a bit more into stuff like Braid and Hey Mercedes. Pretty busy with school, but somehow I still make time to party harder than I should each weekend. ;D
What sort of business is it? Doing two jobs sounds pretty exhausting.

Pretty good, how about you? I started my own company a couple months ago but kept my old job so I haven't had a whole lot of time to sift lately. Discover any kickass bands lately?

For some reason the page layout is getting fucked up on this one.

Well, you're doing a great job at it! If it weren't for people like you, this place would get boring...thanks for providing me with free entertainment, lol.
In reply to this comment by nibiyabi:
Thanks! I decided I wasn't content with just submitting the occasional video, given how much entertainment this site has supplied for me over the last 2 years. Time to give back!

Great to see you back! There was a notable lack of awesome with you away. Every time I saw the little ban symbol next to one of your votes or awesome videos, a little part of me died inside.

Which album are you trying? the pillows have changed their sound a lot over the years (I mean, they've been together for nearly 20 years, so it's pretty much inevitable, haha).
In reply to this comment by RedSky:
Could not agree more, but I still applaud them for trying new things. Listening to the Pillows, not bad but not my style to be honest
In reply to this comment by JAPR:
Aw man, yeah, that song was sweet. The dynamics and mood changes in the song really sold it for me. For Miles was artistic genius as well. I dunno, I feel like Vheissu was just a DAMN good release. The Alchemy Index hasn't really grabbed me like the previous albums have, but there are sparks of genius in them too.
In reply to this comment by RedSky:
Yeah, Atlantic was great. Stand And Feel Your Worth also grew on me massively over time, there's a kind of beauty to its subtlety.
